An infant boy has fallen two and a half metres from a window at a home in Baulkham Hills onto concrete and sustained a serious head injury.
He was knocked unconscious from the impact.
The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at around 10:30am and landed within five minutes of take-off at Gooden Reserve, Baulkham Hills. NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment to the patient, and transported him to Gooden Reserve to meet CareFlight’s clinical team.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the patient, with CareFlight’s specialist doctor intubating the patient and placing him in an induced coma to stabilise him.
The patient was taken by road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
