A woman in her late teens has been taken to hospital in critical condition after she fell from her horse at a riding club in Richmond.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly after 11am and landed in the grounds of the riding club.

NSW Ambulance paramedics worked alongside CareFlight’s medical team to treat the patient. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic intubated the patient on the scene, placing her into an induced coma in order to transport her safely.

The patient was then airlifted by the Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter receiving ongoing treatment by CareFlight’s specialist doctor to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
