A 70-year-old man has fallen five metres from the roof of his Willoughby residence and sustained a head injury.

It is understood that the man was painting the roof and was knocked unconscious from his fall.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked at 1:46pm and landed shortly after in Artarmon Reserve where NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic to the scene of the incident.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment for the patient and CareFlight’s clinical team assessed the man’s head injury.

The man was transported by road ambulance in a stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
