Two men have been flown to hospital within minutes of each other after they both suffered medical emergencies just out of Darwin.

Late yesterday afternoon CareFlight’s NT Rescue Helicopter flew to the aid of a 53-year-old man after he began suffering chest pain.

The helicopter landed on an oval in Berry Springs and CareFlight’s Flight Nurse and Doctor provided treatment there, before airlifting him to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition.

Within minutes, the helicopter was on its way to Dundee to pick up another patient who had suffered a medical emergency.

The 64-year-old man was picked up from his home at Dundee Downs and was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.

CareFlight is proud to operate the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory government.
