A 13-year-old boy suffered fractures to both arms and is being treated for possible back injuries after falling from a retaining wall in northern Sydney this afternoon.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Hornsby shortly before 2pm, landing in an oval at Barker College.

The boy had reportedly fallen about three metres.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated him at the scene, taking precautions for potential spinal injuries.

The medical crew provided ongoing care for the boy as he was taken by road ambulance to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
