Boy flown to hospital by CareFlight after fall in North Narrabeen

A seven-year-old boy has been treated and transferred to hospital after he fell several metres in bushland in North Narrabeen earlier today.

The boy, believed to be at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation in North Narrabeen on an organised camp during the school holidays, fell a few metres off a rock edge, before tumbling a few more metres in bushland scrub.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 10.30am to the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, landing at the scene to meet the boy.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic joined NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene provided initial treatment for suspected broken bones at the scene before taking the patient aboard the helicopter.

The boy was flown to the Children’s Hospital Westmead in a stable condition.
