An 11-year-old-boy has sustained possible head, neck and arm injuries when he fell from his BMX bike at a Lawson biking centre.

In addition to his head injury, the boy had a brief loss of consciousness and potential fracture to his arm.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 5:10 pm this afternoon and landed in Lawson Oval close to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic assessed the patient’s condition and prepared him for flight transfer to hospital.

The boy was airlifted in a stable condition to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
