A 47-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after sustaining severe hand injuries on a boat in Pretty Beach.

It is understood that the man had a fall, caught his hand on a door and suffered injuries to his hand and fingers.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked at 2:39pm from Westmead, Sydney and landed in a Pretty Beach park on the Central Coast less than half an hour later. Paramedics escorted the aeromedical team to the scene of the incident.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor assessed the man for his injuries and continued treatment as he was airlifted in a stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.
