A 26-year-old man has sustained head, shoulder, leg and suspected spinal injuries when he fell eight metres through a roof onto timber scaffolding in a Kenthurst worksite.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 2:15pm and landed 15 minutes later by the scene of the incident to assist NSW Ambulance paramedics who were providing initial treatment for the patient.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic assisted emergency services personnel from Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service in the worker’s hour-long extrication. Once the man was freed, the clinical team performed a clinical assessment on the patient, including an ultrasound, while undertaking spinal precautions.

The man was transported by road with NSW Ambulance in a stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital with ongoing observation during the transport from CareFlight’s clinical team.
