A 62-year-old man has fallen three metres from a ladder while painting at a Narraweena residence.

The tradesman sustained head and chest injuries and lost consciousness after his fall.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 12:50pm and landed in Beverley Job Park where NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic to the scene of the incident.

NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment for the man and CareFlight’s clinical team were with the patient within 20 minutes of tasking. Emergency services personnel from Fire and Rescue NSW were also on scene to help extricate the man from the garden.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic intubated the patient and placed the man in an induced coma to stabilise him.

CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the man was taken by road in a critical condition with NSW Ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital.
