The CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked at 12.45pm today to treat a 67-year-old man who’d fallen from the roof of his house onto a deck below in Lane Cove.

The man, believed to be completing some work on the roof, fell about five metres onto a wooden deck sustaining multiple limb fractures and other suspected injuries.

The CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter, with specialist doctor and critical care paramedic onboard, landed minutes later just before 1pm on nearby Tantallon Oval and were conveyed directly to the residence by NSW Police.

The clinical team joined NSW Ambulance paramedics who were already at the scene, and did some diagnostic tests to ascertain his injuries, before administering pain relief and preparing him for the transfer to hospital.

Under the supervision of CareFlight’s clinical team, the man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Special thanks to the cricketers who paused play on their game at Tantallon Oval so the helicopter could safely land.
