Motorcyclist sustains spinal injuries in collision with car

Saturday 18 April 2015, Sydney 4.30pm

A motorcyclist was taken to Sydney’s spinal injury unit at Royal North Shore Hospital this afternoon after colliding with a car on the northern beaches.

The CareFlight rapid response trauma team were called to Narrabeen shortly after 3pm following the collision at the intersection of Pittwater Road and Ocean Street.

The helicopter landed at the Long Reef helipad where they were met by a NSW Ambulance paramedic crew with the patient, a 26-year-old man.

After initial assessment for spinal injury by CareFlight’s doctors, they decided that he should be transported by road with the CareFlight medical team providing continuing pre-hospital care on the way.
