A 68-year-old man was treated at the roadside after a crash in north-western Sydney late this morning.

The man was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with ute.

Ambulance services called CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter to assist shortly after 11am, the helicopter landing in a paddock next to the scene.

The critical care team helped NSW Ambulance paramedics who were providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the man for multiple fractures to the leg.

The patient was taken in a road ambulance under the CareFlight medical team’s care to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
