A 15-year-old male was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition from an off-road motorcycle track event in Oakdale this afternoon.

It’s understood the boy was injured by a major impact into the handle bars when he crashed his motorbike.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 3.21pm, flying to the scene in 19 minutes.

The event’s dedicated medical team provided initial treatment, with treatment also provided by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the boy further at the scene for chest injuries.

The medical team continued treating the patient as he was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
