A two-year-old girl is in a critical condition after a near drowning at a Seven Hills residence this morning.

It is understood the patient was face down in the pool for several minutes before she was pulled from the water by her mother.

Bystanders administered CPR on the patient before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived to provide initial treatment.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked at 11:05AM and landed after an eight-minute flight in a park near the residence.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic made their way to the scene and intubated the girl, placing her in a medically induced coma to stabilise her.

The patient was transported by road ambulance in a critical condition to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead under the ongoing treatment of CareFlight’s aeromedical team.
