A 3-year-old boy remains in hospital after being pulled unconscious from an inflatable swimming pool in north-west Sydney this afternoon.

The child was reportedly found face down in the backyard pool, having been unconscious for an unknown, short period of time.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Seven Hills shortly after 12pm, landing in a park near the residence.

Joining NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic intubated the boy and placed him in an induced coma to stabilise him.

The medical crew accompanied the patient by road ambulance to Westmead Children’s Hospital, where he remained in a serious but stable condition.
