A 50-year-old woman has been flown to hospital after coming off her bicycle near Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park earlier today.

The woman is visiting Australia from overseas and it’s understood she was riding her bike down a hill in the park when she came off travelling at around 60km/h.

Batchelor clinic staff and police were first on the scene and provided initial treatment for the woman, placing her in spinal precautions and treating her for injuries to the face and body.

CareFlight, operating the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory government, send the Top End Rescue Helicopter to the area.

The helicopter landed at the emergency helipad near Florence Falls, and the woman was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.
