A 64-year-old woman has been taken to hospital in a stable condition with upper limb injuries after the car she was driving left the road and collided with a telegraph pole late this morning.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Pitt Town Road in Oakville shortly before noon, landing in a vacant plot of land about 100 metres from the scene.
The medical team were at the vehicle moments later, assisting Ambulance paramedics to treat the woman.
It’s understood the woman was initially knocked unconscious by the impact, however had regained consciousness as CareFlight’s specialist doctor assessed her in the vehicle.
State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service crews on scene assisted the medical team as they safely removed the woman from the crashed vehicle.
CareFlight’s critical care medical team provided ongoing care for the woman as she was taken by road ambulance to hospital in a stable condition.
