Bequests

Naming CareFlight in your Will is a simple, yet powerful act.

It costs you little or nothing today, but it means you will play a significant part in saving lives in the future.

Your bequest will help us to:

  • bring rapid response critical care to the ill and injured
  • train specialist doctors in pre-hospital and transport medicine
  • provide trauma care training for first responder emergency services personnel and volunteers
  • continue our research into developing ways to improve patient outcomes
  • purchase state of the art, lightweight equipment so we can reach our patients faster and transport them more efficiently

Why do I need a Will?

Did you know that without a Will, the government – not you – will decide how your estate is distributed?

More than half of all Australians are estimated not to have a valid Will. Having a Will is very important because it ensures that your final wishes are carried out without the intervention of authority.

If you don’t already have a Will, you should consider speaking to a solicitor or public trust officer. An up-to-date Will gives you the choice to provide for the people and causes most important to you.

How do I make a Will?

Wills are precise legal documents that are meant to determine the disbursement of your property in the way you wish. It may sound simple, but there are many legal pitfalls.

To be sure that your assets are distributed as you intend, please seek professional help to prepare or modify your Will.

What types of Bequests are there?

  • general bequest is usually a sum of money or a percentage of the value of your estate
  • residual bequest includes anything remaining in your estate after specific and general bequests have been paid
  • specific bequest is a gift of a particular piece of property, such as a house or jewellery
