Tour content

Visits to our bases are approximately 90 minutes long. You will be shown through our air crew and engineering hangars, aeromedical education centres and more. Your CareFlight tour leader will also present a short, informative talk on CareFlight’s history and lifesaving mission.

CareFlight’s aviation and/or medical crew will be invited to talk to you about their work. Please note that CareFlight cannot guarantee the presence of the aircraft during a visit, as they may be called away on a critical mission or essential crew training.

The famous CareFlight bears and other CareFlight merchandise will be available for purchase to help keep our doctors flying and provide a great memento of your visit.

Please note – as you will be touring an operating aeromedical base, a range of special provisions do apply regarding safety, identification of all attendees and COVID-19 management. Please get in touch to learn more.

Our Darwin base

CareFlight’s hangar at Darwin airport is a working base, housing medi-jets, fixed wing aeroplanes and the CareFlight Rescue Helicopter. It is a 24-hour, 365 days per year operation.
