A 56-year-old man operating an industrial lawn mower on a Wilberforce property has suffered an amputation to the lower leg.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 4:25pm and landed 20 minutes by the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment for the patient.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the patient, including an ultrasound, and provided treatment for the wound. The clinical team intubated the patient and placed him in an induced coma to stabilise his condition.
The patient was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition under ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s clinical team.
