A 96-year-old woman has sustained head and leg injuries when she was run over by a vehicle in a Umina driveway outside her home this morning.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 12.00pm from the Westmead hangar and landed 20 minutes later in Umina Oval. NSW Ambulance paramedics had provided initial treatment for the woman and transported her to the park to meet CareFlight’s clinical team.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the woman, including an ultrasound to examine her head and limb injuries.
The clinical team continued providing care as the woman was taken airlifted in a stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.
This incident follows on from another Central Coast mission, on Tuesday this week, where CareFlight treated a four-year-old boy who was run over by a reversing vehicle in a Killarney Vale driveway.
