A 46-year-old man loading a ute in Blacktown has hit overhead powerlines, suffering a high-voltage electric shock, and was thrown backwards from the impact.
The man suffered burns to his arm and has suspected internal burns.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 5.20pm and landed less than 10 minutes later in Lynwood Park, Blacktown, where NSW Police escorted the clinical team to the scene of the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment for the man and CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the patient and prepared him for flight transfer to hospital.
CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the man was airlifted in a stable condition to the burns unit at Royal North Shore Hospital.
