The CareFlight team has taken a four-year-old boy to hospital in stable condition after he was injured by a motorbike that crashed through barriers and hit him while he was watching a motocross race this morning.
The boy’s family, including mother, father and five-year-old brother, were also impacted but not seriously injured. An event paramedic provided first aid.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 10.37am and landed in the carpark at the scene at 10.53am, taking great care to avoid nearby overhead powerlines.
NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived by road at the same time and joined CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic to help the injured.
CareFlight’s aeromedical crew treated the boy for injuries to the head, and continued providing care as he was taken by road with his father to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
NSW Ambulance paramedics took the five-year-old boy and his mother to hospital in a separate ambulance.
