A woman in her late 40s was airlifted from Kakadu National Park this afternoon.
The 48-year-old suffered a suspected shoulder injury and lacerations to her forearm when the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree near One-Lane Bridge on the way to Gunlom Falls just before 11am.
Park rangers, Jabiru Clinic staff and a Fire and Rescue Service crew from Jabiru treated the woman at the scene while the CareFlight Top End Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Kakadu.
CareFlight, who operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, praised the efforts of medical staff and first responders on the ground.
The injured woman was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in the care of a CareFlight doctor and flight nurse, and arrived at the hospital in a stable condition just before 2.30pm.
