A man in his late 30s was airlifted to Darwin last night after he suffered lacerations and a suspected broken arm in a collision between a caravan and a ute on the Stuart Highway just south of Pine Creek.
CareFlight, who operates the Top End Aeromedical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, was called to the crash at around 8pm on Monday night.
St John Ambulance and NT Government health staff also responded to the accident and provided initial treatment to the injured man.
Pine Creek clinic staff transported the man to the oval in Pine Creek, where he was met by a CareFlight doctor and a flight nurse on board the Top End rescue helicopter.
He was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he arrived late last night in a stable condition.
CareFlight praised the efforts of Pine Creek clinic staff, St John ambulance crews and first responders at the scene.
