A 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he suffered a head injury whilst riding his push bike in St Ives.
The boy was riding down a hill when he collided with a parked car and was knocked unconscious.
CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked just after 6pm, landing on a nearby oval.
The medical team were quickly taken to the scene by NSW Police.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the boy at the scene for his head injuries, intubating him to stabilise his condition.
Treatment was continued by CareFlight’s medical team as the patient was transported by road to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
NSW Ambulance provided initial treatment for the patient.
