A 42-year-old woman has been flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition following a head-on crash in Sydney’s Northern Beaches this afternoon.
It’s understood the cars were traveling at speed in opposite directions on Wakehurst Parkway when the collision occurred.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked to help at 3.14pm, landing at a sports facility in North Narrabeen and met by Police who conveyed the medical team to the scene.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were on scene providing initial treatment to the four people injured in the crash, two from each vehicle.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic provided further assessment of the patients.
The most seriously injured patient, a 42-year-old woman, was treated for injuries to the chest and transferred to the CareFlight helicopter by the NSW Ambulance and CareFlight teams.
The woman was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
The three other patients were taken by road ambulances to hospital in a stable condition.
