A nine-year-old girl has sustained critical head injuries after a vehicle collided with her while she was riding her bicycle by Greenhalgh Reserve, Quakers Hill.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked shortly before 4:30pm and landed 10 minutes later in Greenhalgh Reserve by the scene of the incident.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic made their way to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment. CareFlight’s clinical team stabilised the girl by intubating and placing her into an induced coma.
The girl was transported by road ambulance in a critical condition to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
