A 30-year-old woman has been flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition following a head-on car crash in Cattai this afternoon.
It’s understood the two four-wheel-drive vehicles were travelling at speed when the collision occurred, injuring the driver and a single passenger in each of the vehicles.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked at 4.35pm, landing in a field within 50 metres of the scene.
NSW Ambulance road paramedics had arrived shortly before the CareFlight helicopter.
A second helicopter from NSW Ambulance, as well as additional road ambulances, NSW Police, SES and RFS crews arrived shortly after.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic assessed the four patients immediately and provided additional treatment to the most seriously injured, a 30-year-old woman. The woman was tested for injuries to the neck, chest and abdomen and flown to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A further three patients, one woman and two men, were taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance crews in stable conditions.
