Human Factors in Leadership
High Performance in High Stakes
Human Factors for Complex, Dynamic Teams
When the problem is complex, the clock is ticking and being wrong is costly, technical expertise alone does not set teams apart. Behaviour does. CareFlight’s retrieval crews make critical decisions under that pressure every day, relying on human factors skills. These can be taught, practised and strengthened. This course puts our team’s tools in your team’s hands.
What your team will get out of this training:
- Self-regulation under stress- Evidence-based tools to steady yourself and protect cognitive bandwidth when it matters most.
- Psychological safety- Build teams where people speak up early — not after the fact.
- Communication that survives pressure- Closing the loop, pause points, challenge and response.
- Situation awareness- A working model for reading what is actually happening, and what is coming next.
- Constructive conflict- Turn friction into diversity of thought, and diversity of thought into better decisions.
We immerse you in our world
Then we show you how to apply it in yours
Tailored to your team:
Before the course we sit down with you to understand your operating environment, your current pressures and what keeps you awake at night. That shapes the afternoon scenario — so your team practises against a problem they actually recognise, not a generic case study.
This is for you if…
- You and your team make high-stakes decisions and need to perform reliably when situations are complex. Suitable for executives, leadership teams, engineering, operations and technical teams.
What your team leaves with…
- A common approach to communication, problem solving and critical decision-making — a practical human factors toolkit and a shared experience responding to high-pressure scenarios as a team.
We do this every day
Let us equip you and your team with the tools for the complexity you face
