A 23-year-old man has been involved in a collision between a dirt bike and buggy in Gunn Point.
The man was thrown from his dirt bike and sustained suspected spinal injuries and lacerations to his arm and face. It is understood that he was wearing a helmet and experienced a brief period of unconsciousness following his fall.
Bystanders were the first on scene to raise the alarm and St John Ambulance paramedics arrived to provide initial treatment. The Top End Rescue Helicopter was tasked on behalf of the Northern Territory Government just before 4:00pm
After a six-minute flight, CareFlight’s clinical team arrived at the scene of the incident to provide further treatment for the man.
The man was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.
