CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter has flown to Church Street in Ryde after a multi-vehicle accident left several people injured.
The helicopter landed on a cricket pitch near the incident, which involved buses, a truck and cars just after 10am.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic arrived at the scene and assessed five patients before transporting a 55-year-old woman by road to Royal North Shore Hospital.
The crew treated the woman for facial and chest injuries on the way to hospital. The patient arrived in a stable condition.
Local Ambulance, Fire and Rescue and police also attended.
