A woman and two children were injured when their car collided with a cement truck this afternoon in western Sydney.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to the scene in Llandilo about 5pm with reports one of the children, a 14-year-old boy, was unconscious.
Landing nearby, the medical team began treating the boy who had regained consciousness. As well as a head injury, he had suffered serious shoulder, chest and pelvic injuries.
After being stabilised, he was placed in a road ambulance and taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with the CareFlight medical team monitoring his condition on the way.
Meanwhile the woman and a girl aged about seven were also treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and then transported to Westmead Hospital.
