An injured man is being treated in hospital in Darwin after he was found stranded beside his wrecked car on a remote highway at dawn yesterday.
The driver of the first car of the day heading toward Gove spotted the injured 30-year-old man two hours after his car hit a tree at 5am, on the Central Arnhem Highway about 150 km north-east of Bulman.
The motorist drove the man to Bulman Health Clinic for initial treatment to head and back injuries.
Clinic staff called CareFlight who flew the man to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remained in a stable condition on arrival.
CareFlight operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service which provides medical rescue and retrieval services to Territorians across the Top End, on behalf of the NT Government.
