A male cyclist aged in his 50s has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after a collision with a car at St Ives this morning.
The Mounties Care CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly after 11am. The helicopter landed on an oval near the scene.
NSW Ambulance paramedics worked alongside CareFlight’s medical team to treat the patient. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment including ultrasound and oxygenation, and provided pain relief and treatment for injuries to the chest and arms. The CareFlight critical care team accompanied the patient to Royal North Shore Hospital with the road ambulance crew.
