An eight-year-old boy has been struck by a car close to his Hunters Hill home and sustained injuries to his head, face, limbs and has suspected spinal injuries.
He also suffered a concussion from the impact.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 8:15am and landed 10 minutes later in Boronia Park. NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s clinical team to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the boy, including an ultrasound while taking spinal precautions.
The boy was taken by road with NSW Ambulance to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead under ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s clinical team.
