A 6-year-old girl who fell from a tree and impaled her leg on a branch this afternoon has been airlifted to hospital in a stable condition.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter team was tasked to help shortly before 3.30pm, landing at Seaforth Oval, near the playground where the girl was injured.
NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment to the girl. NSW Fire & Rescue crews were also on scene.
Police met the helicopter as it landed and transported CareFlight’s critical care team to the patient, a short distance into the residential area.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment to the girl at the scene before she was transferred to the helicopter.
The patient was accompanied by her mother as she airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition to undergo surgery.
