An 89-year-old man has sustained burns to the majority of his body in a hot shower in his Wentworth Falls home.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 2.00pm from the Westmead hangar and landed 30 minutes later in the grounds of the Wentworth Falls Country Club.
NSW Ambulance paramedics had provided initial treatment for the man and transported him to the club. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic examined the patient and performed a clinical assessment before administering pain relief.
CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the patient was taken by road in a stable condition with NSW Ambulance to the specialist burns unit at Concord Hospital.
