A 13-year-old girl is in a stable condition in hospital after she was hit by a car in Willoughby this afternoon.
It’s understood the teenager was crossing the road at a set of traffic lights on Eastern Valley Way when she was struck by a vehicle.
CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was called shortly after 3.30pm, landing in a park about 300 metres from the scene.
The girl suffered significant limb injuries, including a fractured femur, and also sustained a minor head injury.
She was treated on scene by CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic and NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The girl was transported by road by NSW Ambulance, with CareFlight’s medical crew on board, to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
NSW Police and other emergency services were also on scene.
