A 44-year-old woman has sustained possible spinal injuries when the car she was a passenger in was hit by a vehicle behind in the lower Blue Mountains this afternoon.
CareFlight was tasked at 1.29PM to attend the scene of a car crash on Hawksbury Road, Springwood, landing minutes later on a fairway at the Springwood Country Club, joining NSW Ambulance paramedics and NSW police who already on the scene.
The female passenger was assessed by CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic, had her injuries stabilised and was transferred into CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter under clinical supervision for the flight to Royal North Shore Hospital.
No one else was injured in the incident, Fire and Rescue NSW also attended the scene.
