A woman in her 40s suffered severe burns and was airlifted to hospital from the Central Coast early this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was called to Green Point shortly after 12pm, landing in a school’s grounds on the corner of the Central Coast Highway and Ernest Street.
A NSW Ambulance team was with the patient to meet CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic as they landed.
The woman had sustained severe burns to 50 percent of her body.
CareFlight’s medical crew performed emergency procedures on the woman in order to stabilise her.
After placing the patient in an induced coma and providing her with oxygen, she was transferred to the helicopter and airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
